Our Application Procedure

Applicants must work within the Foundation's procedures and guidelines.

Pre-Application Letter. The first step in applying for a grant is a brief letter of inquiry, not to exceed two pages in length. (This step is not optional — please do not send a full proposal.) Describe your organization and the project for which funds are requested, and indicate how your project fits into the Foundation's areas of focus as stated in the Foundation's Guidelines. This letter may be submitted at any time throughout the year. The Foundation requests that grantseekers refrain from sending supporting materials with this initial letter. If your request coincides with the Foundation's interests, you will be asked to submit a full proposal.

Full Proposals. If you are invited to submit a full proposal, the Foundation will supply you with the appropriate application form. You will also be asked to supply the following additional information:

  • a copy of the organization's letter from the IRS indicating section 501(c)(3) status and its 509(a) status as a public charity, as recognized by the Federal Government,
  • and a recent financial statement.

All of the above are required before grant consideration is made.

Please do not submit proposals in notebooks, binders, plastic folders or videotapes.
